Chandigarh International Airport lies around eight kilometres from the hotel, about twenty minutes by car. Domestic flights connect to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and other cities, and a few international routes lead to the Gulf. Taxis and ride hailing cars are available at the terminal.
The railway station is five to six kilometres away. Shatabdi and Vande Bharat express trains reach New Delhi in around three and a half hours, often faster than driving in heavy traffic. Advance booking is advisable for weekends and holidays.
Delhi is about two hundred and fifty kilometres south by the national highway, four to five hours by car. Amritsar, with the Golden Temple, is around two hundred and thirty kilometres northwest, and Shimla about one hundred and fifteen kilometres into the hills, three to four hours depending on mountain traffic.
For the hills, the narrow gauge toy train from Kalka, about thirty kilometres away, climbs to Shimla on the Kalka Shimla railway, part of the UNESCO listed mountain railways of India. The journey takes five to six hours through tunnels and bridges and should be booked well in advance.
Within the city, Uber and Ola cars and auto rickshaws are the practical options, and CTU city buses serve the sectors. Chandigarh's wide roads and roundabouts make driving easier than in most Indian cities, but traffic rules are strictly enforced.
